Mobile workforce managements are very important for the overall performance of a business, so it’s necessary that businesses come up with excellent workforce management practices. All ages utter changes in the workforce management practices that encompassing various aspects of managing the entire workforce lifecycle.

• What is workforce management?

Now that workplace landscapes are ever changing, including technology, people, regulation and others, workplace management is posing major threats to the smooth running of organizations. Most of the learning institutions prepare students for non-existent jobs, using technologies that are non-existent, to help with solving problems that have not been fully identified. Workforce management can be disserved into workforce and management. Workforce are a group of people engaged in or available for work, while management means coordinating and organizing activities of a business to achieve the set objectives.

According to Henri Fayol (1966), there are six major functions of the management and these are: forecasting, planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating, and controlling. While performing its chores, the management has to ensure it abides by laws of the business and the state and is in the best interest of all the involved parties.

• Workforce management and practices in information age

Principles are fundamental rules and can be noticed in the form of consequences. They are not limited to person, time, or place but are universal. These principles manifest their presence as consequences from time eternal till time external. Workforce management forms and important part and function of organizations, societies and countries, and inherit the consequences of the principles. These principles help the managers to formulate policies, programs, procedures and practices, however, these can differ with times and places but the principles behind the never change.

  • – Principle of scientific selection
  • – Principle of free flow of information
  • – Principle of participation
  • – Principle of remuneration
  • – Principle of incentive
  • – Principle of dignity of labor
  • – Principle of labor management cooperation
  • – Principle of team spirit
  • – Principle of contribution to national prosperity

Individual development is a principle in which one gets results based on their response to it. Principles are usually reciprocated by opting practices, in which one does not sy yet or no to the principles, but rather chooses the best response to manifest broad arrays. Organizations’ responsiveness is how the government decides to respond to the practice of the organization. Each era responds to the principles its way.
