Breakdown maintenance planning is necessary so as to handle any unplanned equipment breakdowns, and any other maintenance emergencies which may come out. One of the biggest challenges with breakdown maintenance is the fact that it is very unpredictable, thus planning for it sounds quite insensible for most business, and they opt to go without.

Analyzing historical work orders makes it possible to see the trends under which equipment break down, such as the seasonal variation in production when equipment are used most, and tend to break down the most. This will enable you to prepare staff adequately for the periods in which there are high chances of breakdown, thus maintaining the machines of your business in order.
