We suggest that you have not yet addressed and which may be relevant to your growth as a reader, writer, or thinker that you write your own essay before reading either of these models-then, having completed your first draft, read these over to consider areas in your own background.
Any mention of either among these essays should be correctly cited and attributed; failure to do so constitutes plagiarism and certainly will lead to a grade that is failing the portfolio and possible other serious consequences as mentioned into the CSUCI Code of Conduct.

Author: Prefers to remain anonymous
As an English major I have learned to appreciate the peaceful, yet exhilarating moment when my mind engages with an author’s thoughts on a full page. As Toni Morrison says in The Dancing Mind , “reading is to experience an individual’s own mind dancing with another’s.” During my early days as a college student, i needed to learn the “true” concept of a work or what the author intended, however, We have now realized this would void literature of its most complexities that are noteworthy. Individual interpretations bring varied insights to a work which is also interesting to point out messages the writer may well not have realized s/he included in the piece.
We have always been a thinker, but throughout my coursework, We have greatly sharpened my critical analysis skills. In place of concentrating on proposed meanings or background that is biographical We have learned to continuously ask “why” on a variety of levels. I challenge myself to dig into a text as deeply as possible and unpack every detail to produce a close that is satisfying. Also, by reading multiple novels because of the author that is same have learned to recognize different writing styles and then make connections that weave texts together; this helped me develop a deeper understanding of the novels. I realize that I did not actively read the book when I look at one of my freshman level novels and see clean pages. I guess you can say because I am able to connect back with my initial insights marked on the page that I have learned to read with a pen, which has drastically taken my writing to a new level.
Writing had for ages been certainly one of my strengths, but it was challenging to take that step that is initial the senior school, five-paragraph essay form that constricted my ideas for such a long time. Moving past this form, however, has greatly opened my mind. My thoughts are now able to become more complex because We have learned simple tips to sustain a logical argument in an manner that is organized. My writing has grown to become increasingly more concise and I no longer have room for additional “fluff” or “padding.” Another improvement is my capacity to point is evolutionwriters safe out complexities that are multiple a text, instead of adhering to one-sided arguments in my own papers. Furthermore, learning what are peer reviewed journal articles and order books through interlibrary loan has significantly widened the scope of my research, which includes result in more scholarly papers with credible references. My writing can be so far more interesting than it once was.
It is hard to identify gaps during my knowledge as an English major, only because I feel like We have learned so much. Personally I think that We have largely expanded my literary analysis and writing skills, but i must anticipate to teach senior school students their required literature. I believe it could be helpful to identify commonly taught novels within our local high schools and study them myself. By studying the required literature and thinking on how to teach it, I will have a sturdy foundation to work from once i will be when you look at the classroom.
